Here we explain the privacy policies set by Kin relating to personal information, tracking and storing of data, cookies, and third-party data. Kin is a product and trading name used by the registered company Better Internet Search Ltd.
Kin users require to have an account and we store basic account information provided by users in a secure server environment. The user information held consists of a username (which can be any name of choice), an email address which is verified at registration. The account also requires a password which is stored fully encrypted. This account information is used only for the purpose of delivering the search service including the delivery of user rewards, and for occasional communications with our userbase. The user rewards total and history is also stored for the purposes of delivering benefits to users. We may also attach geographic tags to user account data for the purposes of delivering regionalised services (e.g. product results with the correct currency).
Kin follows a no-tracking privacy policy. We do not track or store our users keyword searches or URL clicks. For the purposes of training and optimising our search engine, we may monitor general user activity (e.g. noting if users click first page results or results from later pages). Any data being used or stored is anonymous and held in a manner that is not attributable to specific users.
Kin services do not apply cookies, however third-party services resulting from your search activities my place cookies on your device. Kin has no control over these third-party services however you can remove cookies at any time via your browser settings.
The Kin search engine provides links to other websites and products, and our privacy policy only applies to the services directly provided by BIS. When you choose to proceed to other third-party websites our privacy policy does not apply. We have a policy of not providing any data, generated by or derived from our services, to third parties unless required to by applicable laws.
