Set default search in browser

Setting Kin as your default search engine (on computer, tablet or smartphone)

On smartphones and tablets you can simply set a shortcut to Kin on your desktop/home screen - which just appears like any other app to give instant access.

To set Kin as the default search engine on your laptop or desktop computer we would recommend using either the Chrome or Brave browser. Then if you search in the browser address bar, you will automatically get results from Kin.

Here are simple instructions to set Kin as your default search engine or add it like an app on your mobile device.

Add to iPhone & iPad desktop

  1. Open Kin in Safari (https://searchkin.com)
  2. Tap the Bookmark icon at the bottom of the screen (it resembles a box with an upward-pointing arrow).
  3. Tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Tap Add and the Kin icon will now appear on your desktop beside all your other apps.

Add to Android home screen

  1. Open Better Internet Search using Chrome app (https://search.betterinternetsearch.com).
  2. Open Chrome’s Settings menu by tapping the three vertical dots found in the top-right corner.
  3. Tap the “Add To Home Screen” option.
  4.  You will see a preview of the shortcut’s icon. Tap “Add Automatically” to place the new icon on your Home Screen.

Setting default search in other browsers

Other browsers including Firefox and Safari don't currently offer the option to add our search engine as a default.

However, you can set the Kin search engine as your home page in any browser by using the url link https://searchkin.com

And of course you can still access it on these browsers by using the same link.
