Alpha Version 2.1 launch on 18th March 2020

The Better Internet Search team has been working hard on our alternative search engine and we are pleased to say that on Wednesday 18th March we will be releasing Alpha Version 2.1 and allowing more users try it out.

It is free to use, and completely ad-free. Developed in collaboration with Edinburgh Napier University, we now want more folks to try it out and provide us with feedback on their user experience. Some of our Alpha Version 1 users have commented that the results are already at least as good as the major search engines. There was a successful internal release of Alpha 2.0 with the addition of image and video search and Alpha 2.1 will include maps and products. There are even more improvements on the way, and these will be automatically rolled-out to our expanding number of users.

If you are fed-up with your personal data being harvested and with the ads that cover your screen, hijacking your bandwidth while depleting your battery and patience, it might be time for a change!

As an early user you will have full access to general search (including news), image searches and video searches. In development are map searches and product searches, so we will also provide limited function mapping and product searches and then roll out improved versions from April.
